The ‘Facility Life Coaching’ that Carol offers not only looks for reasons to explain why people are how they are; she also suggests a range of practical tools that help with everyday problems and worries, all the while looking forward at what I want to achieve in the years to come.

Carol is not only professional, well-qualified and extremely good value for money – she is also warm, friendly and totally accepting of any problem I may bring to her doorstep. After just 3 sessions I am a more confident, calm and optimistic person – I can’t even put a price on that!’

peter_andre

Peter is an exceptionally talented artist from Norway. It’s great that his song writing talents are starting to get recognised and this is only the beginning for him! We look forward to hearing more from Peter!

Check out the article below.

17 year old Peter Estdahl from Tromsø went to the top of Amnesty International’s songwriting contest with the song “My World”. Hear the song here!13 contributors had entered the competition, but the jury agreed that Peter has considerable talent and a lot of potential. Estdahl was happy for the win.

- Mom was wondering if there was something wrong because I started to shout and jump around the living room.

17-year-old delivered his contribution, the song “My world”, just a few hours before the deadline expired.

The recording was done over a PC at home with acoustic guitar. The song Peter had written earlier to an examination paper.

- The song is about seeing a little larger than his own world and being able to understand that there is a world around us, “said 17-year-old who today visited the morning broadcast on NRK P1 Troms’.

Kate attends SLS Teacher’s Conference 2011

May 18th, 2011

Kate just got back from the annual Speech Level Singing Teacher’s Conference, this year held in Salt Lake City, Utah USA!

‘Each year, singing teachers come together from around the world to learn more about this amazing technique.
They come to refine their skills and grow as a teacher.SLS Teachers Conference 2 This 4 day conference, with 28+ hrs worth of teaching and classes, reminded me once again why this technique works so well and why I love teaching it. In our ‘technique’ classes we witness singer after singer, struggling with a particular vocal problem or difficulty, have their voice transformed in front of us. Tone becomes clearer, range is extended, volume is increased, strain is taken away and confidence built and restored.
Of course learning from the man himself, Seth Riggs, was the highlight of this conference. 80yrs old, fit as a fiddle and demonstrating Es and Fs above tenor high C, with ease and crystal clear tone.
The man is truly a legend.SLS Teachers Conference 1
After graduating from the best music conservatories in America, with multiple degrees in the voice, Seth felt he still had no clue about his voice and could not sing without experience a big ‘crack’ in the middle. He went away to do his own study, working with singers, teachers and ENTs and figured it all out himself. Not only did he work out how the voice is designed to function at it’s best, he figured out how to teach this to people through simple, practical exercises and coming up with the SLS technique.
Hearing stories about clients and friends such as Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson was priceless. I’ve heard it said of SLS that it’s ‘all about celebrity endorsements’. When you meet Seth you realise he is a very talented, gifted, humble man, who is extremely passionate about what he does. His heart and passion is not only for the voice but the singer wrapped around it. This is why he has the backing of such high
caliber celebrity. Stevie himself testifies of owing a lot of his career to Seth for rehabilitating his voice from nodules and giving his voice longevity.
SLS Teachers Conference 3

My own teaching has benefitted tremendously from the conference and I know my students have experienced greater results in their voice since. Our next teacher training is in Manchester this next June, a little closer to home! I am very excited and eager to learn more, this time from friend and Canadian Master SLS teacher Spencer Welch!’

May 10th, 2010

Yorkshire’s first SLS Masterclass with Spencer Welch Huge Success!!

What a fantastic time we had with Master Speech Level Singing instructor Spencer Welch, all the way from Canada!!

MasterclassOver 100 people attended Yorkshire’s first SLS masterclass, taken by Spencer, who wowed the attendees with his extensive knowledge of the voice and the SLS technique. Volunteers of all levels and abilities were pulled up to sing and work with Spencer in front of the class.

Everyone was amazed at the difference Spencer was able to make to people’s voices in just a few minutes using the SLS technique.

Many people commented on how much they learned and how they went away feeling they could sing better by implementing the tips and advice given at the Masterclass.

Masterclass 2Had an amazing time at the Masterclass! Spencer was so down to earth and practical. I went away with a better understanding of my own voice and SLS, thanks!
Moses Duenas

I had such a fun time and learnt so much! Spencer had a great way of explaining the voice and the SLS technique. It really helped reinforce what I’ve been learning in my lessons with Kate.
